Getting a second cockatiel?
I have had Goonie for a couple of months now and she is completely tamed and we cuddle all the time.. But I thinks she deserves a another friend since I’m studying and I can be gone for 8-9 hours. I feel so bad when I come hone, thinking about she has been all alone even though she is outside the cage the rest of day/evening with me :)
But is it too soon to get a second cockatiel? Should I wait a little longer? I’m so afraid that I will lose the bond I have with Goonie which also happened with my previous cockatiel (Victoria) when she got a partner :(
I’m planing to keep them separate in each cage and then tame the second cockatiel, let them be together outside their cages and then at last put them together in the same cage. Is this the best method?
I have read a lot about this on the internet but it didn’t help me that much. I would rather hear some personal experience from people who have had 2 tamed cockatiels at the same time.
Can anyone give me some advice? Please :)
